Perhaps someone with you does not have good English, yet or wants to learn more. There is a course at Dundee College but some community education centres have FREE classes. For example, many overseas students' families go to the Mitchell Street Centre off Lochee Road. These classes are excellent, but do stop during the summer and at other holiday times. Children can learn English at school or at nursery school. If you have a child with you over 5 they have to go to school. Children over 3 can often obtain a nursery place, especially if they need to learn English. The University of Dundee also has an Overseas Students Wives group from 10:00 to 13:00 on Wednesdays in the University Chaplaincy Centre. Children are welcome to come too and play together. In practice, people attached to both universities attend this group. Find out about the University of Dundee International Society. Check notice boards and newsletters for events for international students. At Dundee University there is an International notice board situated in the Chaplaincy Centre.
