We are a group of people living in Dundee who welcome International students studying in or near the City of Dundee in Scotland, whether at the University of Dundee, Abertay University or elsewhere.
Throughout the year we try to provide a link between hosts who live in Dundee and students from overseas, so that students who are living a long way from home may enjoy local hospitality. Our hosts, who are all members of Dundee churches, welcome international students from whatever religious or cultural background. We also organise a number of events throughout the year.

My stay in Dundee was very enjoyable and I consider it as one of the best memory I had in life. Thanks to Friends International that had warmly welcomed us and made us feel like home. I enjoyed the International Café, various trips and activities organised by Friends International, including the discussions. I learned a lot from people I met there and I am very grateful for the friendships I’ve made through Friends International.
I moved to Dundee in 2014. It was very difficult to find the friends in a new city. An office colleague recommended Friends International, and I started attending the Saturday evening meetings. I had been fortunate to make new friends over there, and learn about different cultures. They are very friendly and it is a welcoming group. I felt like a family away from home. Friends International gave me friendship and support at a time when I needed it. I wish to be in Dundee again and join them.
Being far away from home was a very lonely experience in the beginning. But when I’ve started meeting with the vast and warmly welcoming group of Friends International, loneliness disappeared, and good friendships have emerged, making me look forward to coming back to Dundee each time. I am truly grateful for such an empowering friendships, and the presence of Malcolm, Ruth and others.
During my stay in Dundee, Friends International helped me better fit in the local society and gave me opportunity to make many friend from different countries yet hold similar values. As long as I had time, I would attend every single event organised by Friends International. I was so lucky to have met Friends International. It’s not only a community, but more a family to me.
I lived and studied in Dundee from 2011-2012 to improve my English. I have joined to several trips organised by Friends International where I have collected some friends too. I really enjoyed my stay there I wish I can visit them again one time.
During my time of stay, the Friends International had provided me opportunity to meet people from all over the world as well as gave me the support in more ways that I can count.
